NewsApril 2011 Pennyroyal Black Magic has broken in well and and has headed to the paddock for a spell. Three year old Pennyroyal Bon Voyage is the first of Cruise's progeny we have started under saddle and is proving to be a beautiful ride, and with his huge overtrack and fantastic hock action he shows a lot of promise for pony dressage as well as the show ring. Two more of Cruise's progeny - Pennyroyal Portrait and Pennyroyal Cruise Control will head to the breakers over winter and will be offered for sale as newcomers in Spring. Sadly we lost our beautiful galloway broodmare Hawthorne Nakita (Kitten) from a mystery illness in Febuary. Her filly foal was only 12 weeks of age but has thrived despite the early weaning. Kitten has left us with three beautiful progeny - Pennyroyal Black Magic, Pennyroyal Winter Palace and her 2010 filly foal and we hope they will all do her proud in the future. February 2011 Pennyroyal Poetry is progressing well under saddle and also attended a quiet little show for her first outing in hand. She took it all in her stride and picked up champion led galloway and supreme led exhibit.
3 year old gelding Pennyroyal Bon Voyage headed to the breakers recently and is progressing in record time. He is proving to have a super temperament and was hacking out in a 20 acre paddock on only his second ride. He will be coming home shortly and 3 year old galloway filly Pennyroyal Black Magic is next in line for the breakers. January 2011 Our last Ag for 2011 was Dayelsford with Pennyroyal Picture Perfect. We got drowned yet again but picked up another win and reserve champion large saddle pony. After a much needed spell, we headed to the APSB Stud Show on Jan 15 with Picture Perfect as well as 2yo Pennyroyal Winter Palace for his first outing. Winter was shown by part owner Lara Tweedie for 2nd in the 2 year old futurity and 3rd in his gelding class. Pennyroyal Picture Perfect picked up placings in all her classes including 2nd led APSB Riding Pony mare and 2nd APSB Riding Pony newcomer. Pictures below.

November 2010 Rising 4 year old galloway filly Pennyroyal Poetry is back under saddle after a 12 month spell after she was broken in. She will be taken along slowly with the 2011 newcomer season in mind. 3 year old large pony Pennyroyal Sonata has also headed to the breakers. Pennyroyal Picture Perfect had a successful day at Ballarat with a 1st and 2nd in open saddle classes and champion ridden newcomer. Our next outing was Beaufort with 3 year old gelding Pennyroyal Bon Voyage who competed in two led classes for two champions.
Hawthorne Nakita presented us with our second and last foal of the season, a lovely brown filly by Langtree Eye of the Storm. Pictures shortly. October 2010 Pennyroyal Picture Perfect attended Geelong Royal Show for her 3rd start under saddle and took the atrocious conditions in her stride. We only competed in 3 out of the 8 classes entered but placed in all and were happy to call it a day and head home for a hot shower! The following weekend we travelled to Bendigo for a very successful 4th outing under saddle, results are listed on Pennyroyal Picture Perfect's webpage. We have our first foal on the ground, a beautiful filly by Langtree Eye of the Storm out of our lovely anglo mare Roheryn Sheer Delite. She should mature around 14.2h and we hope she will make a super saddle galloway. She is a full sister to our own Pennyroyal Poetry and also Pennyroyal Storm Boy in Tasmania.
Pennyroyal Picture Perfect (x Langtree Eye of the Storm) has finally made her saddle debut after spending the last 3 years babysitting my youngsters while I was busy with family commitments. She will be ridden by Brianna Pacelli and we look forward to having lots of fun with her this season.

At the recent Victorian State Titles Janevelyn Tsunami was Top 10 Rising Star and Newcomer galloway and Merivale Park China Rose owned by Brooklyn Show Horses was Top 10 Rising Star Large Pony at her first outing under saddle. Pennyroyal Storm Boy also by Langtree Eye of the Storm was 2nd Novice Galloway at Launceston Royal Show at his first show under saddle. Congratulations to all the owners.

Brayside Charlies Angel (x FA Cruise) - Photo Credit Monique Bray January 2010 Our first show of the season was the 44th Annual Victorian Stud Pony Show with 2yo gelding Pennyroyal Bon Voyage. At his very first outing and with only one week preparation, he was awarded Reserve Champion APSB Riding Pony gelding. A little later he was awarded 1st by a panel of 3 judges in the 2 year old APSB Riding Pony Futurity, against a quality field including the Supreme APSB RP from earlier in the day. The following weekend we attended the Melbourne Summer Royal. We only entered two classes on the Saturday and were very pleased with Bon Voyage who placed in both.

November 09 Pennyroyal Spring Lily has been sold to a wonderful home. The 2 year olds Pennyroyal Bon Voyage and Black Magic are being mouthed in preparation for their in-hand debuts. Due to social commitments we have decided not to start Pennyroyal Picture Perfect as a newcomer this season and will hold her over until 2010. September 09 Pennyroyal Poetry and Pennyroyal Spring Lily are both heading to the breakers. Congratulations to Niarla Arabians with Bellevale Fine Design (Pennyroyal By Design x Fairlight Acres Cruize) on Reserve Champion Arabian Riding Pony at the Queensland Challenge Arabian Show. Also congratulations to Belinda James with Designed By Bellevale (Pennyroyal By Design x Roseden Beyond Expectations) on supreme riding pony at her first show. March 09 Congratulations to Lara Savva of Victoria on the purchase of the beautiful weanling colt Pennyroyal Winter Palace (pending) by Fairlight Acres Cruize out of Hawthorne Nakita. He is an exciting saddle prospect and we look forward to seeing him out in the show ring in the future. We are reducing our breeding program for the next few years and therefore reluctantly offer for sale some treasured breeding stock. Please see our For Sale page or contact us for further details. February 09 Congratulations to Monique Bray and her weanling filly Brayside Charlies Angel by Fairlight Acres Cruize, who was sashed runner up foal of the year at the WA Riding Pony Youngstock Show. She also placed 2nd in the WA bred foal or yearling class. Brayside Charlies Angel is a full sister to Pennyroyal Sail Away, recently sold to Emma Barlow of Victoria. January 09 Our first venture out to a show since the birth of our son Xavier was the the 43rd Victorian APSB Stud Show. Despite little preparation our 2 year old Pennyroyal Portrait won her Foal Futurity and was Best Foal Futurity APSB Derivative. In the afternoon she was Reserve Champion Led APSB Riding Pony Filly to the eventual supreme winner. December 08 Our beautiful galloway mare Hawthorne Nakita presented us with our last foal of the season, a typey dark brown colt to mature up to height pony. He looks a very promising type.
October 08 Welcome to our beautiful little boy Xavier James Walker, born on 30 September weighing 2.7kg (6 pounds). We also have two more foals, a very dainty dark brown colt foal by Langtree Eye of the Storm out of Falconhurst Lilac Time and a lovely big chestnut colt by Langtree Eye of the Storm out of Janevelyn Royal Tender. Some of our 2008 foals will be for sale, please enquire.
September 08 We have welcomed our first foal for the season, the result of a long awaited cross between Fairlight Acres Cruize and our beautiful anglo arabian mare Roheryn Sheer Delite. We were very pleased with a typey bay colt who should go small galloway. Photos on the foals page. Our next two mares are due to foal late October and and in the meantime we are excitedly awaiting the birth of our first child. April 08 Janevelyn Royal Tender, our favourite broodmare was represented by two progeny at the recent Toowoomba Royal. Janevelyn Madras was Champion Led Riding Pony Stallion, Champion Led Saddle Pony Stallion and Reserve Champion Ridden Saddle Pony. Janevelyn Boogieman placed in 6 classes both led and ridden. We have for sale a beautiful colt out of Janevelyn Royal Tender, he represents a wonderful opportunity to obtain these beautiful bloodines in a future sire or saddle prospect. News from Leanne Bell that Pennyroyal Storm Boy (Langtree Eye of the Storm x Roheryn Sheer Delite) recently attended his only show for the season for two champions, two reserves and best presented of the show. He will be started under saddle in the near future.
Our yearling filly Pennyroyal Portrait attended Barastoc, her second of only two shows for the season for some pleasing results. She took everything in her stride and will be retained as a future saddle pony. All six foals from the 2007 season have been weaned and are doing very well. Some are available for sale. November 07 Pennyroyal Picture Perfect has been started under saddle and is going beautifully with only a handful of rides. Janevelyn Boogie Man (Janevelyn Royal Tender x Weston Mirage dec) has achieved some great results as a 4yo under saddle. Congratulations to his young owner/rider Jolene Maguire. Janevelyn Boogie Man is a half brother to Pennyroyal Picture Perfect (newcomer this season) and Pennyroyal Portrait. Pennyroyal Copy Cat (pic below) has arrived at his new home with Bernadine and Ashley Magro. We couldn't have asked for a better home and look forward to seeing him out in the show ring this season.
